As with all companies, the funeral business is in danger of being swallowed up by huge, impersonal International conglomerates such as
Funeral Partners,
Dignity and
Coop Funeral Care.
This creates a problem for bereaved families not knowing whether they are dealing with a professional family orientated business with your needs being their main concern or with a multi-national, with profits and shareholders being their main priority.
Even with the name still above the door it does not follow through that they are still the owners of the business inside.

Our beautiful Mum died suddenly and we were so glad that we chose Andrew Roughley and his team to take her into their care. They were extremely compassionate caring patient reliable and throughly professional the whole time. There wasn’t anything that Andrew couldn’t do for us. It makes such a difference when you know you are in safe hands. Arrangements were made for us to visit Mum whenever we wished and we could stay with her as long as we wanted too!! This was done in a beautiful serene room so quiet and peaceful.
We will always be grateful for that.
My Dad passed away 2 years before Mum, we chose a lovely wooden box for Dads ashes and Andrew put Dad into the coffin to be with Mum, There was a plate at the bottom of Mums coffin with Dads name and the date of his death. Andrew and his team ensured that my Mums funeral was a fitting tribute to our precious Mum.
We as a family thank him and his team for everything they did for us.
